Freeway Traffic Management
System collects and processes traffic-related
information to control traffic on the freeway.
It uses an automatic inspection system installed
to provide real-time traffic information
to drivers and travelers.
Purpose

and respond to accidents and emergencies
3. To provide traffic information
Information Collection
:
This system collects information on current
weather and road conditions through VDS
(Vehicle Detection System), WIS(Weather
Information System), and emergency phone
services.
Information
Processing :
This system saves, retrieves,
and process the traffic data, other structure
measurements, bridge maintenance data and
other organizations such as the Korea Highway
Corporation and Incheon International Airport
Corporation.
Information Presentation
:
This system provides
information on expressway conditions in
order to provide drivers with a convenient
and comfortable ride. Such information will
be presented by VMS, ARS/FAX, Internet,
and emergency broadcasting system. |
